Default what would you recommend

i have a 1998 v6 3.8l camaro, and i want to know which would be the better way to go, put some headers, supercharger and some other upgrades to my current engine, or put a ls1 v8 in it?

would cost about the same and give the same amount of power, only difference is that you could modify an LS1 easier and haver more potential.

you could make a sleeper out of your camaro IF you want to because the V6 is lighter and the LS1's are heavier but they would be putting ABOUT the same amount of hp

Yeah man, you would have to do so much to drop in a v8 in your car not to mention a different tranny too. Just supercharge it and get some longtube headers, a nice cat back system and get your pcm tuned.

i would go with the LS1, not saying the 3.8's cant be powerfull with full bolt-ons, but how long will that power be there? and how long is that v-6 gonna last under boost?, the LS1 only weighs about 100lbs more anyway, and they have been known to last 200K+ miles without major failure.

and i dont know why eveyone says how much of a hassle it is dropping in the LS1 in there, it will end up costing much less in the long run, and probably the same amount of work.
