I might be wrong but i think the 3.8 will but you'll need a lot more than just the motor

i know, you will need complete wiring harness and all computers. i am just trying to get a good running motor in my car, a garage had it for 4 months to change head gasket and have heads reworked and when i get it back... the connector bearings are shot. "extreme rapping coming from oil pan area"

That is very common if coolant gets into the oil. If your mechainc knew there was coolant in the oil and fixed it anyway he is clueless. He should have warned you that there was a good chance of engine failure. The motor is NOT worth repairing, if you want to put a 3.4 back in find a lower miles used motor then reseal or rebuild that. Now the biggest issue with this 3.4 configuration is that GM stopped making them in 95 so the newest one your going to find is 17 years old.

As for the swap it is really not worth it. Are you going to do it yourself? I would say the job is much harder then the headgasket swap you just paid someone to do. You would need a whole doner car. The frame section under the engine is different (K-member) Since 3800 is a OBD 2 system and has a body control modual you are going to have to swap most of the wiring under the dash. If you are willing to put that kind of hours into your car then just do the V8 swap to a LT1. Head over to project area and check out some of the swap project, Even tho you are going from V6 to V6 it will still be almost the same amount of work. There are a lot of places for a newbee to make mistakes. Some of those mistakes can be very costly.

Something to think about. If you could find a wrecked 96-97 3800 or Lt1 that needed a front clip/rear bumper you should be able to get that cheap and just bolt on your parts as long as it was not hit too hard.
