Default valve lifters hoow to set

i have a 93 camaro 3.4 v6 and i need to know how to set the valves/lifters on it had to loosen them to put a new intake manifold gasket on

acording to the book,,,, turn the motor so the number one piston is in the firing position. with the motor in that position u can adjust the exhaust valves on #1 2 3, and the intake valves on the #1, 5. and 6. then turn motor till the number 4 piston is in the firing position. with this u can adjust the exhaust valves on # 4, 5, and 6 and the intake valves on # 2, 3 and 4. to adjust bring the rocker to the 0 lash position (losen then tighten till u cant turn the push rod with your fingers) and tighten 1 and 1/2 turns to center the lifter.
im sure there are differing ideas how many turns in to center the lifters but this is what it says in my factory shop manual for a 93 camaro 3.4 L32-vin s.
