If already have the wreched V8 car and you need the V6 body that is a much better situation. Nice bodies can be bought for as little at $500.
Buying a V6 body and wrecked V8 makes no sense. If the V8 cars where expensive maybe, but they are not. You can buy a running V8 for $1800 that just needs minor repairs or you can by a V8 car with a blown headgasket for $1200 and be driving with less then 15 hours worth of work. (you turn a $1200 car into a $2500-$3000 for about $400 + labor)
The swap really does not make sense is pulling the motor out of a good running V6 to swap in a V8. Different people have different expectation after a swap. Some people want a car that will get them from point A to point B fast and some of us was everything to work as the factory intends and want another 100,000 miles on the car after the project is done.
