Default v6 exhaust

Well, here's my question: what is the best exhaust for our V6 cars? I have a 96 3.8 that I'd like to change the exhaust on. Suggestions......

And does anyone have any sound clips or video of their cars with aftermarket exhaust on them? Would kind of like some idea of sounds before sending the money. Thanks.

Best for what? Racing or something mellow for the street? I have a Texas Speed and Performance Rumbler, cheap, loud, 3" mandrel bend catback. But it gives me hell on the highway, I've got ear plugs in the center console if I start getting a headache. It is the best flowing exhaust on the market for the price though, hence why it's still on there. If you're doing exhaust, get headers and a carsound (magnaflow) high flow cat while you're at it. That will really wake it up.

The most popular sound by far is a true dual borla setup, but that arrangement is fully custom, and doesn't give you much ground clearance for a DD. Magnaflow's is expensive, but it out flows the flowcrapster by a mile, and most think it sounds better too. Another popular option is a stock Z28 exhaust swap with a hooker aerochamber muffler. The options are endless. Get on youtube and find what you like.

Thanks for the input. I got on you tube, and found quite a few set-ups. Here's another twist, what about one that has dual tips in the center, instead of the sides.......

That will be custom, something your exhaust shop could do I'm sure.

I agree that the Borla is probably the best sounding exhaust for your V6. I have just put a Magnaflow catback on mine, and I love the sound it has. The Magnaflow isn't all that expensive, I paird a total of $412 for mine (free shipping).

Front 17x9.5 rim, 275 wide tire, rear 17x10.5, 315 tire. In other words, big.
