Default V6 advice

Hi i have a limited edition 2001 RS SLP, it still has low miles, but im currently going to automotive schooland one of the projects is rebuilding an entire engine. I would like to keep my camaro with the v6 but really pump it up with another motor when the miles on my current one get high.

Does anyone have any advice as to what i need to do or look for? also i live in Oregon and where could i find a v6 short block? thanks for the help.

As I've read an noticed on here, the best bet most will tell u is to built up ur v6 to max hp. instead of tring to put a different motor in it. cuz it will be a giant pain in butt an cost alot $$$$.

Some info in the below thread. In the early part of the thread I post a link to the GM part for the long block and a list of all the cars it fits. What you are going to find is most mid 90's to 04 3.8 long blocks are the same. Junk yards and many mechanics will tell you it is not true. The reason I posted the link is because the guy followed thru with my advice and installed a 3.8 from a Grand Prix with no problems.
