v6 2000 Camaro rubbing
Hi,
I have a lowered camaro with 285/40/18 tires in the rear with 1 in spacers. My problem seems a bit bizarre to me because I only rub on the back passenger side. The driver side rear tire is intact with no rubbing. I noticed something when I took off my wheels the other day and bump stops are completely eaten up on both sides, yet I still wonder why the driver side doesn't rub but the passenger side rubs like crazy so much that it popped my right rear tire. I am wondering if the bump stops will keep this from happening again or if I need to do something else. I have also cut the fenders a few months ago (once I did this the driver side stopped rubbing completely). Any info on this would help, I will post pictures later. Thanks in advance!

Another thing to think about is that if your car is lowered, you absolutely have to have an adjustable panhard bar to compensate for the side movement that the lowering springs make. That is most likely the reason you're only rubbing on the passenger side. Pick up an adjustable panhard bar ant take it for a 4 wheel alignment.

Yes but you have to have the adjustable panhard bar to do a 4 wheel alignment. The panhard bar goes from the left side of the axle to the right side of the frame at an angle. So if you lower the car, it will move the rear end slightly to the drivers side causing it to rub on the passenger side. SummitRacing has some good stuff. Should be able to find a single adjustable panhard bar there for reasonable.

that what you're talking about? and I only need one right? okay well I've ordered some z28 bump stops as that's what I've seen recommended in a few threads relating to rear rubbing on a lowered car. I'll see how that goes and I'll probably end up ordering this and of course getting an Alignment. I also recently installed Koni adjustable shocks.
