My camaro is an automatic and it will shift from first to 2nd but will not go to 3rd, 4th, or od. It has the correct amount of fluid, i've changed the transmission filter, and i've hooked it up to a computer and the transmission checked out. All it said was i need to change my fuel filter but i know that won't help the shift problems. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be? I would appreciate the help.

.wysiwyg { FONT: 10pt verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif; BACKGROUND: #f1f1f1; COLOR: #000000 } P { MARGIN: 0px } .inlineimg { VERTICAL-ALIGN: middle } all you have to do is get a standard shift car =P lol jk, but i had a problem like that in my Suburban, it would redline at 2nd gear, and then it did start to shift into 3rd after a while, but it would pretty much just be Nuetral, turns out the 3rd gear clutch was fried, i got a jasper tranny for 300 from a junkyard, swapped it myself and was fine, although dont do that right away thats like the worst case scenario, smell the fluid, does it smell burnt at all or look darker than it should?

Taken from the 4l60E common problems and solutions sticky in the 4th Generation Section.
6. No 3rd or 4th gear: “3-4” clutches are worn out. R&R. The car is safe to drive (in 2) until you can get it fixed.
