Default 94 V6 3.4 Transmission will not shift

Ok so when i first start the car and take off it shifts from 1st to 2nd to 3rd thats it. when i come to a complete stop it will not down shift i have to manually shift it to second because it will not go to first once i have been driving it. While driving the only gears i seem to hit is 2nd and 3rd it starts off in 2nd and shifts to 3rd no matter how fast i go.

The trans does not slip, and yes it has the correct amount of fluid in it. I was told it might be the gear range sensor on the trans or a trans filter im confused i

If i dont figure it out i have a solution for it, its called a 350 with a built 400 Turbo trans

The transmission is electronic, and many problems can be easily diagnosed with the proper test equipment. A transmission shop should be able to tell you what the problem is.
Possible problems:
Throtttle position sensor
Fluid pressure switch
Brake switch stuck ON or OFF
TCC solenoid
Oil Pump assembly
Valve Body assembly
2-4 Servo
3-4 Accumulator
2-4 Band

enjoy.

I guess you should look at the ignition switch.

when i first got the car it would not stay running do to the ignition switch seeming like it was out of whack as in you would start the car but would have to hold key forward to keep it running and would turn off once you let go of it lol

well to fix that problem temporarly, to drive it. i ran a hot wire to the ignition fuse under the hood, and put a toggle switch on it. well it worked, but caused it to not want to shift. i figured this out when i was driving it i turned the key forward and all the dummy lights got brighter, my gauges became more accurate. and my car started to shift normally, but would not shift if i let the key go lol its weird.
