Default transmission and differential oil change interval?

I have heard it both ways...in a manual trans. you dont' need to change the oil after it has been changed following the initial break-in period...and you should change it every 30,000-40,000 miles. Same question for the rear differential oil.

Is there a concrete "right" answer? Or are they both acceptable practices?

i have heard it both ways. i would say every 60 to 80k. your may notice a improvement in shifting after a change.
