Why on earth would you want to swap to an automatic transmission???

To answer your question, it won't be worth it. You'll have to change the computer and rear end I think. The Automatics had a different gear ratio in the rear end if I'm not mistaken. You'll need the following:

Trans
Computer
Rear End
Shift plate
Probably other dandy stuff.

I'm sure you could craigslist your car and get a decent automatic z28 lol. 99% of people prefer the 5-speed It wouldn't be hard to convince someone to trade their auto for your car

That's when you have to man up and tell her "Sucks to be you, drive your own car!" LMAO jk jk

But seriously, figure out a way to teach her or you'll be better off trading it for a automatic Camaro. Trans swap is a PITA!

Nah. I taught myself how to drive my Camaro and when I bought it it had 173xxx miles. I replaced the clutch at 184xxx because I blew it apart racing the car. Not because it was hard to learn lol. Just don't let her hot rod it. lol

Not worth swapping. It's more work going from a 5 speed to a auto then and auto to a 5 speed. Rear end would be fine. But you'd need alot of electronics and auto trannys aren't cheap. If your wife doesn't want to learn then don't worry about it. Just take her car if you are going to be in the stat of not being able to drive home. That's what I do. My wife refuses to learn as she's stalled it alot and hasn't learned the concept of changing from first to second before it redlines. Also the clutches can handle a new learner but just don't change it until after she has learnt to drive a stick. But if she can't drive it then that means it's your baby and not hers. Lol.

Lol had it for 10k miles and you already cause a couple hundred dollars worth of damage. Oh such a poor poor car. How's the tranny treating you? Did you get it swapped out yet?

Tranny is trashed from racing. 2nd and reverse are gone. I bought a new tranny but haven't had time to put it in yet.
