top speed limiter......
since the top speed limiter kicks in at around 5000 rpm's in fourth does that mean the more performance mods i put on the higher speed i can go since i will be going at the same speed just at a lower rpm??? i noticed the limiter kicks in at a little higher top speed if i switch to fifth, it goes from about 113 to around 117. this is a theory i have and i want to find out if it is true.

RE: top speed limiter......
The speed limiter is not a rev limiter, and is controlled by PCM based on the input from the VSS. It is set to come on at a certain road speed, regardless of engine RPM or the gear the transmission is in. If you want to do away with the limiter you need to recalibrate the PCM.

Contact PCM For Less, they will update your PCM on an exchange basis. Get all your mods in first so that you only have to tune the PCM once. www.pcmforless.com

RE: top speed limiter......
I have the same issue with my 3.8 which is a '98. It's an automatic mind you... However, it sticks at 117mph at just under 4k. I was wondering if I bought a jetchip stage two would this open it up? Or would I have to adjust or change the rev limiter? Thanks in advance!
