Temp Gauge Goes Up Real Fast
I have yet to get my 2000 on the road but I would like to get a list of what I might need. 2day I started it so the battery doesn't die and I let it run for a while and I got in and the temp gauge was at the bottom and I already knew the heat didn't work but I turned it on anyway and the temp gauge shot right up to about 200 degrees and stayed there (can't remember if the fan came on) and it sounded like the antifreeze was boiling and I do remember the night we brought the car home (wife drove) when I was checking it over it wasn't overheating but you can hear the antifreeze was bubbling. Thanks.

RE: Temp Gauge Goes Up Real Fast
Since the heat doesn't work....
1. Check the thermostat
2. Make sure the air has been bled out. There is a brass nut on the thermostat housing to unscrew while the engine is running. Let it go until coolant comes out.
3. Check and see if your heater core is clogged.
4. Make sure your radiator cap isn't busted.
