Suspension modification
I have a nice 1999 Camaro V-6 with F41 suspension and new Eagle F1 GS D3 tires. I also added a shock tower braces. Performs very nicely. Is there any other reasonable suspension modification I could do to stiffen the vehicle and make it even more responsive and further reduce say and roll? Thanks everyone.
You can try adding subframe connectors (the welded variety),stiffer and adjustablepanhard rod, stiffer lower control arms, set of Bilstein shocks. If you are a total masochist you can replace all the stock bushings with polyurethane ones, will give improved road feel and steering response and a whole bunch of strange and new vibrations.
The DeCarbon are very good, but not easily available and expensive.. The Bilstein will have the same amount of control, but give a somewhat better ride. Pick up a copy of of the September issue of GM High-Tech Performance magazine, practically the whole issue is dedicatedto handling
i have kyb agx 8 way adj. I LOVE THEM!!! they have a good ride... a little stiff, but it's a camaro... and then i can tune them for the track! Another GOOD way to stiffen the roll up is a good pair or sway bars!!!
About the DeCaron shocks. Does nayone know if there is a shelf life to them. I got some take off shocks but they have been stored for about 4 years. I have 74000 on the original ones but I don;t suspect any problems with them. TIme for new ones or should I leave them alone for now? Thanks
