ok, I've got a couple of things I'm wondering about. This summer, I will have about $1000 to invest into my car. I'd like to get 80-100Hp out of it. Not NOS or anything like that, just engine work.
So what could I get for $1000 that would give me that much more horse power? My other option is I can make a rear mount turbo system for about the same price, but those seem to be quite controversial. Any suggestions?

nothing for 1000$ not them numbers. i mean a full exaust is about$750 alone.. good for 20 hp. supercharge it but its going to cost some $3000+. nos will be under $1000 but you dont want to do it.

 

That's why I was kinda leaning towards doing a rear-mount turbo system. I can get all the parts including the new injectors and reprogrammed PCM for about $1300. I was just hoping someone had some insight as to an alternative way of getting equivalant power, for about the same price.

 

You can get exhaust on Summit for 250 and up depending on what brand you want.What kind of turbo are you looking at putting on your car?

exhaust for $250? get out of town...Headers will run you that alone...see the sticky for a large list of bolt-ons and their prices

80-100hp is a lot man...cam and valvetrain with full bolt ons will not get you 80hp

I said exhaust and nothing about headers.Look on summit.I know an exhaust kit for my car costs 259.99-427.95 with two more brands in the high two hundreds.I guess I better get out of town.

those are Cat-backs...part of the exhaust. Headers and cat are exhaust to. If your going to put in a high flow cat-back, you would gain more by replacing the whole exhaust system and not leaving the restrictive manifolds and cat...but if I had 1K to blow performance wise...

Headers $250
Cat $50 (on ebay)
Cat-back $250
CAI $75 (on ebay)
Aluminum Driveshaft $130ish

then gears and good tires if you don't have so already and maybe some suspension if you got $$$ left over
