does anyone know if i wanted to switch my rear on a 97 3.8 from a 3.08 to a 3.73 would i need to have a new reluctor ring for right installation?

Should be the same, unless the phisical size of the ring gear is changed. The reluctor ring spins at the same rate as the axle so rear end ratio has no effect on the ABS. At least in the Camaro set up.
