Smile Choices and more choices lol

First off Hi all, Im obviously new to these forums. Secondly here is my debacle and i could use some advice. I used to own a 94 z28 m6, and sadly i sold it off. But i will be returning back stateside from being stationed overseas and i would like some opinions on what year/model (z28 vs ss) would be my best option to buy. I loved my lt1 but i think id like to go with an ls1. So with that said enlighten me

welcome back

if you already owned an LT1 then you know the differences

paint and interior are expensive to fix and who wants sloppy seat covers?

aftermarket wheels and tires will run you over $1,000

we get all caught up on the engine when it's the other stuff which costs a fortune

Exactly. If you can afford it, I would say get the LS1.

I agree. 98 and up Z28 or SS. They are pretty affordable at this time with alot of people moving to the 5th Gen

not to hijack but what are the major differences between a z28 and SS besides the hood, spoiler and wheels?

Minor intake, exhaust, and suspension upgrades.

Depends what he wants and how much he has to spend... Personally, it's less about engine and more about the trans when it comes to street cars. I'd downgrade for the thrill of a clutch pedal.

Valid point, as far as goals:

Strip on the weekend, but still a daily driver
im pretty set on getting another manual
a streetable 450 rwhp
Ill be at ft stewart GA, but i was hoping to do my shopping while on leave in kansas city. Maybe the south has more quality cars?

Also my budget ranges from $5k cash or from a dealer id be willing to finance $10k for a really clean car.

450whp isn't too hard to accomplish on a LS1, but it will get costly; 12 bolt or 9 inch is required, wouldn't even dare attempt it on the 10 bolt. The M6 trans should be ok for that power, if you get an A4, you will need to get it built
