Default Small Problem

THIS IS MY PROBLEM:
when i turn my lights on, the brights are always on, it wont let me move the stick back to shut them off.... could this be the stick? or is it some sort of relay?

also, my right turn signal is messed up.... when i turn the lights on its a solid arrow instead of a blinking indicator..... when i push the stick UP and it clicks into place like it should but it still does not blink...both the bulbs are good & i can move it manually up and down to get it to blink, but i will not if i just push the sitck up. could this also have something to do with the stick????? or a relay or something like that?

fyi..... the left turn signal works properly..... along with the wipers, and the cruise....

i was hoping youguys could drop some knowledge.....

and if youguyshad any suggestions as to where i should start looking.

thanks in advance,
ken

Did you just get the car, or did this just start happening? If you just got it, to turn the brights off/on is different than most cars. Pull the lever toward you, it should click. That is the only way to turn the brights on/off.

Does it click? It would be nice if the lever was the culprit for both problems.

If you can pull the lever until it touches the steering wheel that doesn't seem too good. It sounds like the high low switch is bad. Before you replace anything you should test the switch with a voltmeter.

If it does need replaced... http://www.moderndaymuscle.com/inc/sdetail/533 thats where you'll find the cheapest brand new replacement.

If one of your blinkers stays a solid arrow it means one of your turn signal bulbs are burnt out. Since it works one way and not the other, you might want to double check for any burnt out bulbs.

banks thanks for the suggestions.....

i know both the bulbs on the right side are good, because i bought some new ones....
now i was searching for related topics, and i found that if you get the rear and the front bulbs mixed up(i.e: front bulb in rear socket and rear bulb in front socket) that this will happen.... so maybe theguy at thenapa gave me the wrong ones????? or maybe its the indicator relay?

can anyone confirm this???
