Default 94 V6 small shifting problem

about a week ago i noticed that my car wasn't shifting right away when the engine is cold (over night). every other gear shifts fine and on time except around 45 mph where it usually shifts again. i can get to 55 and it still won't shift into gear and it takes about a minute or two coasting at 50 before it finally shifts. just got oil change and transmission flush yesterday; didn't fix.

All the GM cars I have driven do that(not sure about other brands), especially in cold weather at this time of year. I'm not sure exactly why, but I think it's designed to not shift into overdrive till it gets to a certain temp.

how many shifts is it making. sounds like the torque converter is not locking up when cold. you should get 4 shifts and a converter lockup thats sorta like a shift.

I always wondered why there seemed to be an extra one...

Actually, i think that's exactly what it is. I'm gonna see if warming her up longer before driving will solve the problem.
