98, Gorn is correct. I kid you not when i say this but I had this exact problem about 3 days ago. My car was shuddering everytime I was either on a hill or trying to punch it. The shuddering would take place around 2500-3000 rpms. I would say change out plugs and wires like Gorn said. Also I would look into the coil packs. Might be time to change those out as well.


Last thing, double check firing order. When I changed my wires I did them exactly how I was taught, one-for-one. The problem I found was that the previous owner didnt do it this way so it caused the firing order to be wrong. I figured this out and corrected it and now m car runs as good as ever. Hope this helps

 

thanks for the help guys, I have plugs, wires, and fuel filter on the way. if the problem isn't fixed after I change them, then i'll take a look at the coils and other possible causes
