You say you just installed new K&N air filters. You put oil on these new air filters. That oil gets on the fine measurement wire of the MAF senson, and messes it all up. The car sends a signal down that wire once in awhile, to clean it. That signal comes from the "Burnout Relay". Be sure this is working properly, and clean the MAF sensor wire.
I use only Spray Berryman Chem-tool to spar the wire of the MAF. Anything else leaves residue. This happens to me every time I re-oil after cleaning the filters. No matter how lightly I reapply.

Go to AutoZone and get yourself a spray can of mass air flow sensor cleaner. I haven't seen it happen so quickly, but with an oiled filter like the K&N, your intake sensor can get gummed up and also collect dirt. I just cleaned my brothers sensor a month ago. It went from having an SES light on and running like crap, to being cleared up after spraying the sensor. And I watched the sensor turn from black back to blue. His car isn't a Camaro, but still the same concept.

ok before everyone keeps goin on about the k&n thing, stop......its not that, i didnt oil the filter because no oil came with it so that kinda eliminates that theory, but after more investigation its either the EGR valve as previously stated becuase its looking pretty haggard and old OR its the gas cap because the car was in an accident once and the repair-man or whoever fixed the tank just through a bunch of epoxy lookin crap all over there at the fill location, but the cap goes on and clicks as it should
also i havent been able to install a new EGR valve yet because im 1600 miles around the world...i have a new one, just not put on yet
