Service Engine Light
Hey guys,
I got a service engine light on. What would be a better idea:
1. Take it to a chevy dealer (Will it cost a lot more just to look at)
2. Take it to a local shop
3. Buy my own computer reader thing and find out myself
Is there a general reason for the light going on, or could it be something real pricy? I wanted to save some money for dual exhaust :P

The cheapest ones are not always the best. Usually for a few $$$ more you can get the ones that will define the codes as well. Some of the cheap readers will not be able to clear codes as well. Also some will tell you if your car's systems have been cycled through their tests and are ready for emissions testing.

By the way Massey, we have identical looking cars :P Same year, color, t-tops, engine, cloth seats (mine are a lil diff, yours look a lil cleaner), and mine has a small dent on the side !

I sold my Sarah a few days ago. But you are right the cars do look alot alike that is why I was asking if you bought the car from a guy named Mike (me) from Spanaway (where I live). The mods I did on Sarah were removed and put on my Wife's Diamond. I have not had a chance to get any good pics of her car yet since we have not had a good sunny day since I put the stuff on her car.
