Default running ritch?

1994 3.4 ,I recently had a fuel smell,( I checked all of my hoses and spotted no leak)after about a week my fuel pump started to whine and i had a loss of power and a thunking noise in first gear( loud and only if you give it gas, if you baby it she runns fine) so i replaced my fuel pump assuming it was an issue in fuel pressure. after replacing that i ran it for 2 days and the noise is still there and the smell has not gone away. It could be some gas smell i got inside the car while replacing my pump. anyways if you run it and are gettign that sound if i pop the hood she smells like she is running ritch. the sound (while inside the car sounds like its coming from around the area of the touque converter.)

its a fast thumping/slapping sound

any ideas?

Seems like you may have changed the fuel pump instead of a transmission or motor mount. If you are still smelling raw gas, check all fuel lines and EVAP system & make sure the engine is not misfiring. Do a fuel pressure and pressure regulator test.

The fuel pump needed replacing i have no dobt especially after replacing it, but you think the sound that increases with RPM and a loss of power in low gears, could be a tranny mount?
