sup guys, everytime i start my 2001 3.8 series 3 v6 camaro its idles fine for about 30 seconds then the idle turns so rough that it rocks the whole car and me, then after 20 of rough idle it goes back to normal. my dad was saying im might have to just clean my K&N air filter, and if so how do i clean it.

 

Try removing the filter and let it idle and see if it still causes that problem. When was the last tune up?

 

okay ill do that the next sunny day, and i have no idea, ive had the car for about 2 years now and haven't "tuned" it

 

A tune up as in new spark plugs, fuel filter, spark plug wires, pcv valve.
