Default More HP!!!

I was just wondering what i would need to put into my 3.8L V6 to make it around 300 hp. If i was going to be pushing that much HP would i have to get a new tranny?

i really dont want to just buy a v8 and call it good, i feel like that would be taking the easy road, plus you dont see a lot of v6's with some get up and go. but i mean if its a waste then its a waste lol.

If i were to get a v8 id have to spend around 2k anyway to get the lt1 and even more for an ls1... Not a big fan of the lt1 headlights though...

I am recently getting into the actual mechanics of cars and learning how they all work, so i appreciate any help and advice you are willing to give me.

Thank you for your time. =)

Do you want 300 rwhp, or 300 crank and about 250-260 rwhp?

300 rwhp is what your getting to your rear wheels. 300 crank horsepower is how much power is at the crank.

You lose 15-20% of power through your drive train.

Here are some good mods to start out with, copied chaotics post. All of this will work on your 3.8l:

As for mods on a 1994 3.4 Camaro, I recommend the following: CAI, Exhaust, 1-piece driveshaft, Headers, SS Sway Bars, Stiffer Springs, Shock Tower Brace, Z28 Limited Slip Rear end w/Disk Brakes and 3.42 Gears. All of that put together will make your car jump out of it's socks for being a v6. Any questions, check out my progress thread. I have a ton of pics that should give you a good idea on what will and wont work on your car. I've done so much stuff to mine that it's hard to name it all. Good luck and let us know how things go with it. Here's a link to my car's progress thread:

Look here at the Tom Henery Camaro. It takes alot more than just a cam and a few bolt ons to get 300 HP

- Tom Henry RS V6 Camaro Project

Also do a search on the forum here for MusicMan's build on his 97.

Very true, but with full bolt-ons and a cam the OP might be satisfied with it. Getting a Z28 is the most logical way to 300RWHP. That V6 will have to be fully built to attain that number.
