Default purge canister valve

I have a 1997 3.8 and my MIL is on with a p0441 evap code. I heard a hissing sound while driving the car so i checked for a vacuum leak. I noticed on the purge canister valve there is a small rubber elbow connected to it, but no vacuum line connected going anywhere. Just wanted to see if anyone new where the vacuum line connects to from the purge canister valve. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

There should be a sticcker in the engine compartment showing vacuum hose routing, unless it was removed by a neatness fanatic. Ask dealer for a VECI sticker.

if there is an open vacumm outlet u could. check for an open vacumm outlet on the throttle body or a vacumm hose coming from it that is unhooked. if the evap is not venting it could also cause hard starting and poor fuel milage.

That rubber elbow is correct AS-IS (there is not supposed to be anything attached to it!!)

Check the line that runs from the valve to directly in front of the throttle body - mine had a split in the rubber boot on the throttle body end. There aren't many vacuum lines on this engine, just take your time and make sure they aren't cracked and leaking.

Also be sure to check the vacuum line running from the purge canister to the purge valve. It runs along near the fuel feed and return lines, under the car. There are a few places where the plastic pipe connects to rubber hose - these tend to rot out and cause leaks. Mine caused a noticeable fuel-vapor smell after the car was parked - not a vacuum leak.

my whole car smells like gas when it runs at this point... I still can't find the leak. maybe a cracked injector or and o-ring or something? idk how easy that stuff is to break, i've never had to change them or anything before...
