Default Power Steering Problem....

Ok i am having this problem with my power steering. The problem is i have none. I put Lucas in incase my rack and pinion was worn out. It helped a very little bit It is to the point where it will work occasionally for maybe one turn. Im used to driving it without power steering but when it does kick in it completely throws me off.

I got into what you can call an accident this past winter. The first slush we had on the ground i went out and i was being dumb i was goin about 85 on the highway. In th center of the highway there is a grass median. Well i was going along trying to make it to the mall in 10 minutes before they closed. Well i hit a little bump and it spun my car in a circle seven times. Well when i hit the grass median it spun me the opposite way 3 times and i ended up about 100 ft down the median facing on comming traffic. When i hit the median i bottomed out really hard obviously and i was wondering if i bent the Rack & pinion. But idk if not what else could it be.

Check the power stering pump, at times the shaft will shear but remain in place and hide the problem.
