Default Power Steering Problem

I have 1967 Camaro SS. About 1 mile from my house a seal of some sort blew in power steering box and all fluid was lost. I drove car on to house without PS. Since the box was very old I elected to replace instead of rebuild. I replaced it and now it seems pump is not working. I filled it with fluid up to line, started car for a minute, refilled, and nothing.

Any Suggestions?

my best guess would be , you ruined the pump by running it without fluid

Probably so. I'm going to make sure all air is purged from lines and such. Next step is replace pump.

When you run the power steering out of fluid you have to purge the lines. Once started the steering wheel has to be moved back and forth for a few minutes to drive the air out of it. Just sitting there at idle will not force the air out.. It should get easier over a few minutes as the air is purged.. It is possible you burned up the pump itself also and that would mean also replacing the pump.. But try to purge it first and see if that works..
