ya the only engine that uses an opti is the LT1 you have coil packs. try actually removing the O2s that way the exhaust will go out there and bypass the cats.

 

now i get what you mean ok ill do that when i get home but about my switching the computer would that do anything because i heard that if you put a 97 in it you can change some settings and such but im not sure if that works on the v6

The 96 and 97 computers should be exactly the same

 

ok so i found 2 problems it was a bad wire on cylinder 5 and also a bad cat so thank you guys for all your help im pretty sure i got it now its running smooth and great thanks again

looks like i spoke to soon i still have the cylinder 6 misfire only that tho i bypassed the cat is there anything else i can check its still drivable just a missfire sometimes when i stop at a light for a while any ideas maybe a vacuum leak?
