p0300 i cant find the problem 96
i know there are a million threads on this but ive tried everything on them ive been working on the for a few weeks now
my problem went from a p0306 cylider 6 misfire that usually came on at idle and caused a chug chug feeling when i let it roll with no throttle so i thought it may be vacuum but i couldnt find a leak on the way home from work one day it turned into a constand mis running on 5 cylinders and berrly got it home i swapped many parts trying to make it follow but it didnt and it started running really bad multiple misses and smelled like raw fuel out of the exhaust im running out of options im wondering if it is the entire computer please help me and let me know any other info i need to give
ive tried changing
plugs
plug wires
coil paks
injectors
ive checked the fuel preasure at the rail and ive checked the icm thank you so much for any help i dont know what else to try

A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plugs or wires
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector(s)
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
Faulty camshaft position sensor
Defective computer
how many miles are on the car? does the exhaust smell like rotten eggs at all? any other codes?

i did have an egr error before but it doesnt come around very offten
im wondering if it is a faulty cat or cats can i unhook the exhaust and see if it fixes it for a minute?
i also have a good deal on a new computer should i change it because i have a guage app on my phone tourqe im sure you have hurd about it and a few of the gauges dont work like fuel level and fuel rail preasure so im wondering if that is noral or i need a new one
i also want to get a 97 so i can change the computer is that a good idea

My 96 throws the p0300 with just one cylinder misfiring ive seen it twice, so double check plugs, wires and firing order. Then test the Cam position sensor and go from there. the fuel smell is from the car dumping raw fuel from the misfire. DONt LET IT RUN TOO LONG or you will have to replace the cat for the bank with the or cats if it really is a multiple cylinder misfire affecting both banks.

Craby probably has the diagram out of a manual he can post if he stops in. but the sensor is part of the opti so if it is bad then you need a new optispark
