i was driving earlier today and the oil level light came on. so i pulled over and checked the oil it was full. so i figured bad oil level sensor and proceeded to the parts store and picked one up.on the way home my oil pressure dropped approx 20 lbs from normal, so i was getting worried by the time i got home. i got under her drained the oil and pulled the oil level sensor and somehoe the little float on the end was missing so i figure its on the oil pickup tube screen and i have to drop the pan .any other suggestions?

 

get the rubber hammer out and see if you can make it bounce in the pan. the screen should be bigger than the float and the float should float so i would think it would be hard to get into a position to effect the pressure. that is unless its in pieces. take the oil filter out and cut it open to see if its pluged with anything. you probly going to have to pull the pan to see more.
