Pumps wear out with time and run slower as the bearings wear, there is also a check valve in the fuel pump that can go bad and create the hard starting problem, Get a pressure gage and chek the fuel pressure and regulator function.

NGK plugs are also very good. Like you guys, I haven't had good luck with Bosch.

im swapping out my bosch platinums tomorrow for old acdelco came stock with the car. did the lumina have a bad high idle cause of the plugs?

i would do a fuel pressure test before so i knew what i had to start with. it could be that is not getting enough fuel or too much fuel. will it start easier if you hold the throttle down a little. that would add air and lean the mix a tad. mine runs rich when cold and if it doesnt start right away i have to hold the throttle open a tad before it will start. its just that one time when its cold though
