Default 71' mystery car. help!

About 4 years ago i purchased a 1971 camaro but since then have not been able to decode what it truly is. i have all the books with the vin and cowl decoding information but it is still fuzzy to me. the car has all of the RS options; true split bumper (round turn signals parrell with the headlamps), tall 3 piece spoiler on the back and the spoiler under the front of it (or at least i think that last is an RS option). I was recently told that the "4 spoke" steering wheel is also an RS feature, however i can not be positive on any of this right at the moment and i know that someone could go through all the trouble of trying to make it an RS as well. I did some further research and have found that it has the 4 speed "rock crusher" tranny in it and to me it seems like they wouldnt have put that tranny in just a plain RS but i could be mistaken. the rear end is a 3.42 and that is about all i know with the drive train of the car. It does not have the origional motor and if i didnt i wouldnt be asking these questions right thats basically all the information that i have for it right now. if anyone can help me diagnose what model it really is that would set my mind at ease no matter what the outcome. Thank you very much!

Get ahold of General Motor's Vintage Vehicle Department, If you give them your vin number they will run it through their system and send you back all the info they have on it. If its a true RS it will say, it'll say what engine and tranny came with your car, rear end, interior colour, stripes, etc. I did it for my 78 Z and it helped alot.
