Your thread is what had me take the video of the flexplate. I checked all the bolts..everything was great. Not even a scrape on the flexplate or bolts. I was even preparing myself for the worst. Any other ideas on where to troubleshoot?

If I pull off the y-pipe will I be able to see if the inner pipe is loose?

Hmm, maybe there is an issue with the flexplate to crankshaft bolts, IIRC there are 6. If you unbolt the converter from the plate and slide the converter back you might be able to see them. That may be a wild guess, though.

I'm trying to think of what inner pipe you are talking about. You think it might be the cat?

The y-pipe is supposedly double walled..and the noise could be from the inner rattling against the outer..thats what I have read here and the garage told me that.

The catalytic converter is brand new..$225 mistake the noise didnt change.

If those 6 bolts were loose wouldnt I have a rattle even at idle?

hmm, I've never heard of that but that doesn't mean much

I think if it was the y-pipe, you could grab it with some thick gloves and maybe feel the rattle or possibly make the noise go away.

I'm not sure what you'd experience if the 6 flexplate to crankshaft bolts were coming loose. Mine were nice and snug when I had my issues, I'm just trying to think of things to check.

Is it close to the exhaust manifold? I'd leave it there, it is probably shielding the wire from the exhaust heat.

You have a bad spark plug wire, get a new set. The metal shield is there to prevent the wire from being melted from the exhaust manifold, but you should not have any arcing to ground. Your wire or boot is "leaking" and is conducting through the shield.

When I pulled the heater hoses and thermostat housing i got less then 2 gallons out of the bottom of the radiator...that is not right..is it?
