My rattle..it has become my nemesis
Here is what I have...
3.4L automatic Just installed a new catalytic converter, had the entire exhaust gone over. Here is what I also have... I have a rattle that seems to be exhaust related, hence the new catalytic converter. that didnt fix it. I pulled the inspection cover for the torque converter and shot this video..I do not think its warped as there is no metal or grinding anywhere. I think i have nailed it down to the passenger side. When I beat on the exhaust with a rubber mallet no rattle, but as you will hear in the video when I increase rpms I get the infamous rattle sound. Take a look at the videos and pleas offer up some advice..I am lost well now I see that I can not load attachments yet..any ideas on how to get this video out there for visibility? |
You should be able to link the video after your third post count.

You need to host it on a site like youtube, copy the url, and paste it here.

That sounds an awful lot like what I heard when my flexplate bolts starting rattling off. See my thread here:
https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...ncluded-68550/ Then again you might not want to look at what I ended up doing. Get under there and check the torque of your flexplate bolts, also make sure they are all there. Use a pry bar to carefully turn the engine while you account for and retorque each bolt. |
