The temp gauge doesn't work in either of our camaros and both of them have new thermostats.

Are the hoses getting hard from pressure? do you have heat inside the car?

either its not plugged in, the sensor is bad or theres a air pocket in there and the coolant is not getting to the sensor.

I must elaborate: it only stopped working after I replaced the water pump. So I'm gonna bleed the system soon

Stupid question, do I have a bleeder plug for the system? I left my manual at my friends house by accident

Default antifreeze coming out of overflow tank

I had the same issue with my 96 camaro rs with a 3.8 v6...I drove my car 400 miles one day and came back and let my car sit then all of a sudden i had antifreeze come out of my overflow, im not sure how much came out but it wasnt too much.. my question is, how long do thermostats last? Im thinking that it mightve been sticking..i got mine replaced about less then a year ago so hopefully thats not it...what else could it be? I also got my head gasket replaced last year so thats not the problem..I have been watching my overflow tank and it hasnt come out again..help me if you could please...

if you have coolant coming out of the reservoir then its overfilled or theres a crack/hole in it. your should have a coolant level dip stick sorta thing. get the owners manual out and it will tell you how to check the coolant level in the reservoir. to check the level in the radiator let the motor cool tell cold and open the radiator cap. should have coolant full to the rim that the cap seals against.
