More questions about rear gears...
If I bought new rear gears... I would really like to know what MPH I would be at when i redline in each gear. I just don't know how to figure it out! It's not that I drive my car really hard and redline all the time... I just figured that if I knew what those numbers were, I would be able to get a better understanding of what I would get out of a new gear ratio. I'm looking at the 3.42 and the 3.73 ratios. From what I've been reading... the 3.42 is a pretty safe bet. But if I could do the 3.73, and not be regretting it when I get on the freeway, then I would get the 3.73. I drive on the freeway every day for a really short distance (like 3 miles)
To sum it up...
I have a 2001 with a 5 spd manual. Is there a way to tell what my MPH would be at redline? And what would you do... 3.42 or 3.73? Thanks

Here are your gear ratios for the 5 speed: http://www.vibratesoftware.com/html_...ons.htm#5sptrn
and here is a speed/rpm calculator: http://www.car-videos.net/tools/speedrpm.asp

Thanks sooo much that's exactly what I was looking for! I punched in all the numbers and I thought that I would see a bigger difference in MPH. So that makes me lean more towards the 3.73 ratio. If anybody with a 5 spd V6 put the 3.42 or 3.73 gears in their car I would like to hear your review on them! Thanks
