3.73 of you're streeting it most of the time, if you want to race, though, I go 4:10, and completely forget that 3.90 is an option.

For the bolts, count the number of bolts on the cover plate. While the number is supposed to mean the number of bolts on the ring gear, the covers (almost) always match. If you've got a 10 bolt, it's important to know what gear ratio you're starting with, as you'll need a new carrier if you have 3.08 or higher (numerically lower) gears now, since the 3.23 and lower gears use a different carrier. And if you don't have a posi (also called limited slip) you should get a torque locking carrier or posi, as this will prevent endless spinning of one wheel when you floor it at takeoff.

It will. Like it says in there, you should use your old pinnion shim so that spacing and gear wear pattern is correct, this'll greatly improve your rear's life, and reduce noise from uneven gears as well, although gear marking compound to ensure proper spacing is definitely something you want to use.

You do have a 10 bolt, right?

Count the bolts on the cover plate of the rear end.

One important fact that has not been noted. (26 SPLINE AXLE SHAFTS) 92 RS has 28 splines, so that e-bay unit will not work.[sm=chairshot.gif]

That's a good point. However, for that price, I'd track down a pair of 26 spline axles and make it work.

Possible solution. However: The one starting this Post is glueless about changing his rear axle gearing and it appears he is in over his head on this subject. And any replies posted is not really going to help him since a gear ratio change is not a first time DIY project.[sm=chairshot.gif]
