questions on gears and posi
Gotta learn some time. It's not something for the faint of heart, to be sure, but it isn't the hardest thing on the car to work on, either. I'd sooner tell a newbie to change gears than do a ring job, or a camshaft.
That is a Govloc carrier, avoid at all cost they are ****, near impossible to rebuild, and they break at the drop of a hat. Check the pics. I suggest going to a local driveline shop to find out exactly what you need. Anyone who has done rear ends should know that not all housings are perfectly matched carrie and pinion shims from one housing will not set up the same in the other. I've done hundreds and have never had one match up that good. I'ts been my experience that if you have to ask, then you have no bussiness attempting it yourself. Alot of the repairs I make are from people who thought they could do it themselves.
