well im considering on gettin these for my car, especially cus my car has awful traction the tires just break loose everywhere. and rumor has it that my gears in there now are the 2.73s which is a real whimpy gear ratio. i have an 1989 camaro RS with a 305, i was just wondering the price range, and what it would require to put them in, i can do it at my uncles shop i just need to know if i need any special tools or anything, thanks.

 

Do some reseach on gear ratio changes and find out what your presentgear ratio,also the spline count for your axle shafts.Exampleo you know whata 2 or 3 series carrier are??? A lot of thing you need to know before thinking about a gear change. Even if you could DIY the parts arre going to be in the $600.00 + range.

 

I wouldn't mess with gears unless you know what your doing...

I have LSD and 3.42's and I really like them

 

i have 3.73s and posi in my 92, i still get 22 mpg and kinda wish i went with 4.10s
