Well, I keep changeing my mind on whether or not I want to do the engine swap or not b/c I'm also wanting a little drifting car, b/c I'm starting a "Drifting Pretty" chapter here in Temple Texas sometime soon and will be needing a drifting car to be in the meets.. So I think I'm going to put the "Project: LT1 Swap: on a back burner for right now. But still keep puttin some money back towards the swap for next summer..... Thanks for the advice guys... I appriciate it a lot....

You want a sleeper? why not just buy a Z28, remove the emblems and install v6 wheels? would be a lot cheaper in the long run, and already comes with all the heavy duty stuff.

Well in my case, to come across a z28 that has the LT1 for a decent price around here.. isn't happening. A big car dealer around here wanted $10,000 for a 1995 3.4L (think it was the 3.4) 100 some odd thousand miles, Automatic. It was bone stock.....

Now trying to find a z28 for a decent price, even through a private sale.. will be a pain.

Yeah.. I got my car at an auction off the Military base near me for $1500.... Needed a battery and the steering wheel put back on and the air bag put back on the steering wheel..... and then from there the normal tune up....

I actually have a friend that has a Ls1 that came out of his '9* Firehawk and is willing to more than likely just give it to me..... So hopefully I can go look at the motor sometime soon and will maybe be getting that some time in the near future... As far as I know there is nothing wrong with the motor... He just wanted something bigger.... But oh well.. We'll see...

For an LT1, like I am planning....but, I got mine by trading a 1980 MGB roadster and $200 for my 95 3.4L car with a bum engine.

For an LS1, which is costlier, obviously...

P.S. NO Camaro is a sleeper.

What is the HP difference of the LT1 vs. the LS1 (Stock, no added mods)?

Oh and by the looks of that chart... I might as well just by me a different car if I want the LS1....

I believe about 275-285ish for an OBD1 model LT1. I believe about 305-up for LS1s.

Really, the LT1 wouldn't be so hard--quite a few bits from a v6 car are just optional swap-outs for an LT1. It's just the swapping an engine from underneath that's going to keep me from doing it in the 10x20 storage I've got the car in right now. An LS1, other than the costs of them (probably more than an LT1 swap altogether), it's out of my ballpark, too

Well the only reason that I'm even considering an LS1 is that I have an opportunity to get one for cheap or FREE... There's nothing wrong with it.. but the guy that has it just wanted a bigger motor.... So I'm willing to spend some more money to get some more power......
