OK, so im trying to drop the camaro a little bit (around 1.5"-2.0") for look and performance reasons and am looking at Strano Springs right now. My only question is that if i do want to do this, would it be necessary (or strongly recommended) to get shocks as well? It seems like it would be worth while but since i'm only 16 i don't have THAT big of a wallet and probably won't be able to afford both a quality pair of springs and shocks.

Yes, if the shocks arent made for the new ride hight then they will wear out rather quick

Do NOT lower your car without a decent set of shocks. If you want a decently cheap set, I think the SLP Bilstein's will handle Strano's 1.25" springs pretty well. They also ride really well according to Liberty. When I had my car lowered, I had KYB AGX which are also good but they cost a little more. BUT they are also adjustable to your needs.

arent there other necessary suspension upgrades also when lowering? like panhard bar...a couple other i forgot..

 

It's not necessary for lowering. It just helps keep the car inline with the rear end.

 

Your suspension geometry changes when you lower, as I recall, you want to look into LCA relocation brackets and an adjustable Panhard bar or Watt's Link to re-center the rear...

IMHO, if you are getting Strano Springs, get Koni SAs also. If you are on a budget then just get this SLP kit (don't mix and match, this kit is ENGINEERED to work together):

Between shocks and springs -- definitely shocks first -- how many miles are on your car? Your choice of shocks has to be guided by if you will buy lowering springs in the future, and if it is anything OTHER than the SLP combo above, you should be considering Koni SAs or KYB AGX as a lower priced option. I would not advise Bilsteins with any other lowering springs (nor does Strano) -- IF YOU WANT THEM TO LAST.
