The other day my boyfriend had just left in my car and before he even made it out of our housing editionthere was a popping sound and it started squealing really loud. He came back and stopped right before he pulled it in the drive and revved it up a little bit and smoke started coming out from underneath the car.That was a couple of days ago andthe squealings worse. He saidthe day it started it just squealed when he pushed the clutch in, but now itsconstant. He's owned plenty of camaros and a couple were clutches but hes neverhad to work on the clutch. My dad said it sounded like the throwout bearing and we think the noise is coming from the tranny or close by.Can anyone share some info on this. I have a 94 camaro 3.4L V6. We also just changed front and back brakes. It needs ne tires and maybe tie rods(we haven't took a close look yet) and even though my boyfriend says its fine I thinkthe power steering might have a small leak. Sorry so long, but I just got this car a couple of weeks ago and I'm ready to drive. And I love camaros so I'm really trying to gain some insight. How doyou know if the throw out bearing is bad?

 

Most likely it is the throw out bearing, but it could have caused additional damage. In any event, the transmission has to come out in order to fix the problem.
