is there a way to stop the squealing sound when wet?..
my car really squeals for like 10 seconds after coming to a stop light and then going during the rain. but only when the pedal is pressed. do you think its the breaks squealing or that somehow its getting under and causing the alternator belt to squeak?
no it only squeals when i first turn the car on for like 5 sec but its when i press the pedal is when it squeals for like 10 seconds. is that just cause its wet out? how can i stop that?
Still sounds like your belt(s). Check to make sure they are in good shape and tight. What you describe is typical behavior for a bad or loose belt.
Yep, has to be loose/bad. My truck's motor did the same thing when I first got it, the people who installed the motor for the last owner did NOTHING right and the alternator belt was too loose.
well i just got my alternator belt replaced like 3 weeks ago and it doesnt feel loose..and it only does it when its wet out..doesn't the alternator belt just squeal when the cars not in motion?
When the car is idling at a stop light you might be slightly discharging the battery. When you take off the alt needs to work harder and puts more strain on the belt.
Chances are the belt is glazed by now, conditioner would only be a band-aid.
Time for a new belt.
