If your looking to spend 2000 dollars you could have gotten a camaro that is much better than a 3.4 for 5000$. But since you have that one there is alot of options you can take to spend 2000$ on your camaro.

Alright I'm working on a unique idea with a co-worker of mine. I have a 96 camaro 3.8L(for sale) that spun a lower end bearing. So were putting an older/rebuilt 85 chevy, 305, small block, carborated motor into put the muscle back into the car. So here's the question. I'm using a 5 speed transmission from a 93 chevy s10 and we're having a rough time getting the clutch line from the 96, camaromaster-cylinder to the 93, s10 slave cylinder. Any suggestions?
thanks

Well... The 3.4 isn't exactly the best place to start. You'll be spending a lot of money just to catch up with the 3.8s... But I'd say with $2000, you can do a good piece to it. My car is a 99 3.8 and I havent spent more than $3000 on the entire car... Including buying it lol. It's all about what you wanna do... Personally... I'd drop an LT1 in it. LT1s aren't exactly expensive =P

i'm 16, bought my 95 3.4 a few months ago for 2700, a/c compressor is broken, but thats all thats wrong, came with aftermarket stereo and a very nice paintjob. i started reading on the car for a about a month straight and then bought a cold air intake off of ebay, brand called chrome intakes, and the explanation i got made perfect sense-"and intake is just a tube, with a filter on the end, so the only difference in air intake is the filter" so if you buy one from ebay is like 65 bucks shipped, and i notice it in acceleration, and plus it sounds cool at about 3500 RPM.
next i'm going for a 160 degree thermostat, summit racing has them for like 20 bucks shipped, and then im going for catback and headers, and then maybe ill think about fixing the A/C

but if i had 1500+ i would go straight for the v8, but you shouldnt upgrade your v6 if you ever plan on going v8, i think the air intake is the only interchangeable part between the two, and the A/c compressor too

The most notible increases for acceleration would be gears/stall. (Stall if you have an auto, Driver-Mod if your a m5)
Both are relatively inexspensive, gears are like 200. Not too sure about self install yet, I'll get mine in sometime this summer, shouldn't be terribly hard with my techie for a dad.
Just have to make sure everything is perfectly aligned.
Don't give up on the 6!
I'm in the same boat, I've got a 3800, hey its no v8 but its still a Camaro!

The muscle from a GM 305 from 1985 is probably gonna be less than what a late model 3.8 puts out. Oh ya, stop stealing other members threads. Get your own damn it! J/K....not really...ok, I am.
