Lifter tap at start up. Seafoam or.....?
#11
Just thought I would leave an update. It has now been two weeks and about 500 miles since I added seafoam to the newly changed oil. At this point I have not had any lifter tap since the day after I added it to the clean oil which would be 13 days. I am going to change the oil again this weekend and go back to just straight oil although I think I will try synthetic and see what happens.
So, so far so good. I will cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Posting Update.
Went back into the top end, removing the upper intake and valve covers, did a re-torque of the valve rockers and now all is really and truly well in Camaro land. Acceleration is much smoother, and the overall performance has greatly increased. Now I just need to find the cause of this latest undercarriage vibration and noise that started after I hit a pothole. Hmmm. Everything seems to be ok upon visual inspection, but the noise persists. Have checked to see if anything is loose or broken but still cannot find this noise cause.
