Default Leaky Intake Manifold?

Once upon a time, we owned a 1999 pontiac grand am with the 3800 series 2 engine. We had it for a few years, and then once it hit the 60,000 miles mark, the intake manifold started leaking. We think that it was burning the coolant. When we took it into a mechanic, he said that was a standard problem with this make and model of car. Now I own a 2000 camaro, with the 3800 series 2 engine, and I was wondering, has anyone had any problems with the intake manifold leaking and allowing you to burn coolant? I'm sitting at about 70,000 miles, and I noticed my fluid was a bit low, unfortunatly, the weather has been so eratic lately, that it's hard to measure the levels at the same temperature to help compensate for volume changes due to temperature.Has anyone had any similar problems with coolant getting low, but having no external leaks or drips? Thanks

Dan

Default RE: Leaky Intake Manifold?

You mean Grand Prix? The two cars have two different manifolds. It seems like the leaks on this model are more external than internal.
