Default L26 heads

ok so i was at the junkyard for work and i stumbled across 6 05 police impalas. all with 3800's. now, my question is are these equipped with the L26 3800? the ones with the rumored larger valves, really cant tell but i would think so because there 05 models, but theres no engine cover cause its a law enforcement vechicle. i snagged the high voltage alternator and bracket. but can somebody tell me before i go back out there and pull these things off for no reason

The Series III or L26 head has a .030 larger intake valve. Yes it will help with power but you are also going to have to realise that .030 is only the thickness of a dime. You will have marginal gains with the heads by themselves, the main source of the gains will be in your gas tank.
