Default Just got my new muffler.

Just got a new muffler put on, the car is a 2000 3.8 Series II 5 Speed.

The shop said it was an 80 series but I think its not after reading. The 80 series are supposed to be quiet rite? Well mine is pretty loud. It is a dual out, inlet/out on one side, and an out on the other. The car sounds NICE almost like a V8 at idle and nice at lower RPMs. However, at higher RPMs it is a little Raspy. Also, when letting of the gas at higher RPMs, it is purdy raspy to and "bumbles a lot" . The car is stock, if I install a glasspack or resonator after the cat would it take away from the Rasp? Or maybe larger pipes? Also no tips are on it yet, do they make any difference? Thanks.

80 series is the dual outlet...its not supposed to be quiet

a v6 is always gonna have a little rasp...headers, high flow cat, and larger diameter/mandrel bent exhaust tubing will help reduce the rasp

Rasp is kinda like the buzzing sound when you let off at higher RPMS.

That Rasp I dont know if its wit hthe exhaust as much as it might be with the aluminum plate behind the muffler. Mine would make a "rasp" buzzing sound like they said even at idle till it was warmed up I went under and looked at it, and there is a thin piece of metal the covers teh underside where the T-tops are held to where the actual muffler is at, maybe its a head shield alll I know is I went under and the sides of it stick out, I jsut bent em up and it doesnt buzz anymore lol might just be mine. The only other rasp I can think of is done at like 3 grand in second gear only if Im not hammering the gas, I haear a buzzing cruising there, I think I just need a new flywheel thats what it sounds like to me.
