seafoooam
tried the ol' seafoam today and it was impressive.. i got kind of scared when the SES light and "reduced engine power" light came on...i took it for a drive after idleing it for a while and i could only get up to 3300 rpm in nuetral and 55 mph in about 45 seconds..after a little more idleing everything went back to normal...i would say it released a little bit of power but not much..the idle is a small bit lower too...i was getting 23 mpg highway with the 3800 and thought maybe it will help with that too...i recommend using it, a lot of smoke came out of the exhaust so it must have been pretty dirty in the engine...real simple, cheap cleaning that will probably help out the lifespan of your car; try it!!
Ive used SeaFoam before and i had topped of my tank then added it to the gas then had the car sit over night in the drive way then just drove when i used it and it never did that... i dont know? im going to use it again when i have a empty tank but thats weird ive never thought it would do that to the car! I like it cuz it cleans everything and is like $2 a can.
Well the real way to use it's cleaning power to make all that smoke and seem like it's a cleaner on steroids is to let the engine suck it in through a vaccuum line. That will clean out the tips of the injectors, the intake runners, everything behind the throttle body, the valves, pistons, catalytic converter, and O2 sensors.
how long does it smoke like a redneck bbq? im just wondering because I really want to seafoam my car soon but don't want it smoking all weekend. After I seafoam it I'll probably get a new fuel filter.. I read on Brent Frankers website that its good to do it about 500 miles before your next oil change, so I might just have to cut that short..
ok, 20 minutes is good.. i dont care if it smokes for an hour, because i know as long as its smoking its doing its job, or something has gone horribly wrong. just as long as it isnt smoking all day or something.. thanks
